Home Inspections

Well Water Connection offers thorough inspections for clients who are looking to purchase a home.

Our goals are:

  • Thoroughly inspect the system and clearly explain expectations to the buyer
  • Determine what recommendations are critical vs optional
  • Provide the buyer with written recommendations as quickly as possible

The inspections can be broken into three parts below. You may choose one, two, or all three services depending on your concerns.

Water Testing

Well Water Connection will correctly procure water samples and deliver them to a state-certified laboratory immediately for testing. This process typically takes 7-10 business days. Basic testing can be completed the same day but does not cover health-concerns and recommendations are subject to change once the lab results are analyzed.

As soon as we have the results, we work quickly to analyze them and provide written recommendations including costs for what is needed to ensure the water is safe to use and drink.

This service typically takes 15-20min onsite.

Typically, the samples will be raw (unfiltered) so we are able to analyze what contaminants are coming straight from the well. If there is an existing water treatment system, additional testing may be necessary to ensure the systems are working properly. This depends on the type of equipment that is installed.

The testing package we will recommend is based on the type of well, location of the home, town regulations and other known or unknown factors. Information on water testing packages can be found here.

Well, Pump & Tank Inspection

Well Water Connection will check the flow and pressure of the pump, evaluate the “health” of the pump/motor, check the system for rot, corrosion, leaks, potential mechanical and electrical hazards, etc. document data such as date codes and model numbers, integrity of the overall system, condition of the bladder tank and surrounding components, collect electrical data (amperage, voltage, etc) and if the well is accessible, we will remove the cap and inspect the interior.

This service typically takes 45-90 minutes onsite.

Note: We do not make any changes or modifications to the system during this time.

More information on well, pump & tank inspections can be found here.

Drawdown & Recovery Test

It’s important that every homeowner knows the true production of their well to avoid over-pumping it, especially if planning for outdoor watering. We use a sonic water level meter to get an accurate reading of the water level as the water level in the well is drawn down and refills. This will allow us to find out when the well either “stabilizes” or & “runs dry” giving you an idea of how much water your well produces and at which rate your well refills or “recovers” in gallons per minute (GPM).

This service typically takes an additional 30-45 minutes. The well-head location must be known and accessible. There may be limitations depending on the size, depth and condition of the pump in the well. Learn more about our Drawdown & Recovery Test.
